Princeton, NJ – February 1, 2017 – The County of Mercer has once again partnered with the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce for the 12th Annual Economic Summit. Titled “Preparing for the Changes Ahead”, the 2017 Summit will introduce the Mercer County Economic Impact Awards given to two outstanding Mercer businesses. In addition this year’s event will feature an evening networking reception, keynote address, panel discussion and welcome remarks by Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes. The Summit will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28th at the Boathouse at Mercer Lake and is sponsored by Investors Bank and PSE&G.
“In Mercer County, one of our core strengths is our flourishing economy. This annual summit is a chance for the business community to gather and discuss issues vital to our continued success,” said County Executive Hughes.
The event will launch the Mercer County Economic Impact Awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding companies in the County. The inaugural winners of this year’s awards are Hutchinson Industries and Princeton Air.
“The Mercer Region is central for successful businesses and we are pleased to honor those outstanding companies in the region at this year’s Summit,” said Peter Crowley, President and CEO of the Princeton Regional Chamber.
In addition to the awards, the keynote address will be delivered by Dr. James W. Hughes, Dean of the Edward J. Bloustein School for Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. He will provide perspective on our Mercer County region and on our statewide economy. A panel discussion will follow on the topic of how to “Adapt and Prepare your Business," featuring experts Kimberlee Phelan or WithumSmith+Brown, and Wayne Pinkstone of Fox Rothschild LLP.
“By offering these presentations to our audience, local business executives will gain knowledge of current and future economic trends which could positively impact their businesses and the opportunity to learn from the award winners’ successes,” continued Peter Crowley. “Working with Mercer County, we are proud to present the 12 th Mercer County Economic Summit and look forward to bringing together key stakeholders to discuss their impact on business and their influence on our local, state and national economy.”
