Mike G is, without question, the best plumber I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His meticulous attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship set him apart from anyone else in his field. Beyond his technical expertise, Mike brings a level of professionalism and knowledge that immediately inspires confidence. I highly recommend both Mike G and Princeton Airโ€ฆ you will not be disappointed.
Princeton Air replaced AC in my HVAC unit during heat wave last week, and they did an excellent job. I would like to mention that staff who did the install, Jeff, Don and Brian. They worked fast and did so in a very professional manner. They wore shoe covers and laid down canvas cover to protect the carpet on their way to the HVAC unit in the basement. I was very happy with the service they provided.
I had a great experience with Princeton Air. I had an issue with a part of my healer leaking. Within an hour of calling about this problem, Dylan, the technician, arrived at my house. He soon identified the problem. The next day 3 technicians came back and replaced the faulty part.
Technician was professional and helpful. He was prompt.

Great customer service. Dominic was very knowledgeable!
Brian H. was the name of the employee who came to assess the problem. He was very professional, took our problem seriously (electrical issue), and worked hard to diagnose the cause. I would thoroughly recommend Brian H and Princeton Air. I quickly booked online, received confirmation texts, email and calls. Very satisfied customer.
Dominic was a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend his services without hesitation.
We recently had a new AC system installed after our 16 year old system cried "uncle!" We have been a customer of Weltman, now Princeton Air, since we moved into our home and over the years we have had mixed feelings about the service and price we paid. Our recent experience, however, was all positive. From the initial technician call to see what our issue was by Cruise, to the the evential sales visit with Andre, to the final installation by Asterson and his team, everyone was professional and dilligent about all aslects of the job. Each took the time to explain our situation, provide us with options, and more importanly, not pressure us into anything we did not want to do. The electrucuan, Joe, discovered an unsafe electrical connection, disabled it, explained the issue and why it was problematic, and provided us with a quote to bring it into compliance and make our home safe. All in all, though we were not anticipating the need to have our AC system replaced, I am glad it is done and very happy with how it all turned out. I am happy to recommend PA and will be making a call to have our electrical issue resolved!
Jose was very professional. I definitely recommend and give 5 stars to this company
All communication with the office was excellent. The electrician Brian who did the work explained the issue, the process of the repair and the new work beyond my expectations.
Dominic McGinley is a TOTAL professional! He is so knowledgable and takes the time to answer all of our questions. He is also a delight to work with. Thank you, Dominic, you have our total confidence and we appreciate the care you put into what you do.
Dominick McGinley is a TOTAL professional! He is so knowledgable and takes the time to answer all of our questions. He is also a delight to work with. Thank you, Dominick, you have our total confidence.
Thrilled to have a proper quick connect hose for the gas line going to our outdoor grill. Appreciate the friendly, fast and efficient service!
Sarabjeet T. was terrific. Installed a new smart thermostat that required some troubleshooting and patience. Answered all my questions. Friendly, knowledgeable, careful, patient. Thank you for the great service.
Alberto was very professional and did a great job.
Dominic was extremely pleasant, professional, and thorough,. He was also quite efficient. He quickly diagnosed the situation and was able to correct it. He also took the time to patiently explain my thermostat to me. Then he signed me up as a member. So heโ€™s a pretty good sales guy too!
However, I then set up an appointment for maintenance and twice Princeton Air canceled me. Iโ€™m now set up for maintenance the end of June. And thatโ€™s after they tried to set me up the end of July and I complained. And this is after Dominic signed me up as a member. Thereโ€™s something very wrong with her business model and I do not consider this good customer service. I will likely have to look for a different service. And itโ€™s something more responsive.

Boiler Repair

When a boiler malfunctions in the middle of a New Jersey winter, the impact on your household is felt immediately.

At Princeton Air, we take boiler repairs seriously. Our technicians diagnose the underlying cause so the repair actually solves the problem. We explain what we find in plain language, give you an honest assessment of your options, and complete the work with the care your home deserves. Every repair visit begins with a thorough inspection of the system so we can identify the true source of the issue. Common boiler problems we address include:

If your boiler has stopped producing heat or hot water entirely, the cause could be a failed ignition component, a malfunctioning thermostat, low system pressure, or a problem with the circulator pump. Our technicians diagnose the issue accurately and restore operation safely.

If some rooms are warm while others stay cold, the problem may lie with air trapped in the system, a failing zone valve, an imbalanced distribution system, or a circulator pump that isn’t moving water effectively through all zones.

Banging, whistling, or kettling sounds from a boiler often indicate limescale buildup on the heat exchanger, trapped air in the system, or pressure irregularities. These issues are worth addressing promptly to prevent further wear on the system.

A boiler operating outside its normal pressure range, either too high or too low, won’t heat effectively and can become a safety concern. Pressure issues are commonly caused by a failing expansion tank, a faulty pressure relief valve, or a system leak.

A boiler that won’t stay lit or fails to ignite is a common complaint, particularly in older systems. Thermocouple problems, gas supply issues, or electronic ignition failures are frequent culprits, and our technicians are experienced in diagnosing and resolving all of them.

Boiler Installation

Installing a new boiler is one of the most significant investments a New Jersey homeowner can make in their home’s comfort and long-term efficiency.

Princeton Air approaches every boiler installation with the planning and precision the job demands. Our team takes time to understand your home’s heating needs, evaluate the existing infrastructure, and recommend equipment that will perform reliably for years to come. A properly installed boiler should deliver consistent, even warmth while operating safely and efficiently in the background of your daily life. We account for:

Selecting the right boiler begins with understanding how much heat your home actually requires. Factors like square footage, ceiling height, insulation quality, and the number of heating zones all influence the appropriate boiler output. Oversized equipment cycles on and off inefficiently, while undersized equipment struggles to maintain comfortable temperatures. Our technicians perform a careful evaluation to recommend the right capacity for your home.

Boilers in New Jersey commonly operate on natural gas, propane, or oil, depending on what’s available and what your home is already set up for. Our team reviews your existing fuel supply, venting configuration, and distribution system before recommending equipment that integrates cleanly with your home’s infrastructure.

New boiler equipment needs to work correctly with your home’s existing distribution system, whether that’s cast iron radiators, hot water baseboards, or radiant floor tubing. Our technicians evaluate compatibility carefully and account for any modifications needed to ensure the new system performs as expected from day one.

Modern high-efficiency boilers can significantly reduce energy consumption compared to older units. Our team helps homeowners understand the efficiency ratings, features, and long-term operating costs of available equipment so you can make a confident, informed decision.

Boiler installation involves gas or fuel connections, venting, system pressurization, and integration with your home’s thermostat and zone controls. Every step requires careful, code-compliant workmanship. Princeton Air’s technicians manage the entire process with precision, test the system thoroughly before completing the visit, and leave your home clean and warm.

Boiler Maintenance

A well-maintained boiler runs more efficiently, lasts longer, and is far less likely to leave your household without heat on the coldest days of the year.

Princeton Air’s boiler maintenance services give New Jersey homeowners confidence that their heating system is ready for whatever the season brings. A professional annual tune-up allows our technicians to identify developing issues early, verify safe operation, and optimize the system for efficient performance throughout the heating season. During a boiler maintenance visit, our technicians typically perform the following:

Soot, corrosion, and mineral buildup on the heat exchanger force a boiler to burn more fuel for the same amount of heat. We inspect the exchanger during every maintenance visit and clean it when buildup has started to reduce efficiency, which protects both the equipment and your heating bill.

A thermostat that reads a few degrees off, or one that responds slowly to temperature changes, quietly costs homeowners money all heating season. We run the thermostat through a calibration check against reference readings, verify the wiring, and recalibrate or replace when accuracy has drifted.

Boiler pressure tells us a lot about system health. Too low and the boiler won’t circulate properly. Too high and safety valves start releasing water. We read the pressure, inspect the expansion tank that absorbs pressure changes during heating cycles, and adjust or replace components when readings are outside normal range.

The flue and venting system exhausts combustion gases, including carbon monoxide, safely out of the home. A blocked, corroded, or disconnected flue creates serious safety risks long before it’s visible from inside the house, which is why we inspect this path carefully on every visit.

Burner condition directly affects both efficiency and safety. We check the burner for proper flame characteristics, adjust the air-fuel mixture if needed, and measure combustion efficiency so the boiler is actually delivering the performance its specs promise.

Healthy Home

Princeton Air’s indoor air quality services work alongside your boiler to keep the air in your home as comfortable as the temperature.

Winter tightens up a house. Windows stay shut, ventilation drops, and the air inside can grow stale, dry, or heavy with particulates that a hydronic heating system doesn’t circulate or filter the way forced-air systems would. Dedicated IAQ equipment is how homeowners close that gap.

Whole-home air treatment systems capture particulates, allergens, and pollutants across every square foot of conditioned space. We install and service equipment sized correctly for your home’s layout, with filtration stages matched to what your household actually needs.

Summer humidity and shoulder-season dampness can drive indoor moisture well past comfortable levels, which is where mold, dust mites, and musty odors thrive. A whole-home dehumidifier installed into your HVAC system manages moisture automatically rather than moving a portable unit from room to room.

New Jersey winter air is dry, and boiler-heated homes feel it more than most because hydronic heat doesn’t add any moisture to the air. A whole-home humidifier eases dry skin, reduces static, protects wood floors and furniture from cracking, and lets the house feel warmer at lower thermostat settings.

Modern homes are built tight for energy efficiency, which saves on heating bills but traps stale air, cooking odors, and indoor contaminants inside. Energy recovery and heat recovery ventilators bring fresh outdoor air in and stale air out while recapturing most of the energy already invested in conditioning the home.

UV air purification installed in the ductwork or at the air handler neutralizes mold, bacteria, and viruses as air passes through the system. For households with allergy sufferers, respiratory conditions, or immunocompromised family members, UV adds a layer of protection that runs continuously without any homeowner intervention.

Why Homeowners Choose Princeton Air for Boiler Work

Boilers aren’t furnaces with water in them. Hydronic heating, combustion, venting, and distribution systems require training and time in the field that our technicians have accumulated across decades of boiler-specific service calls in homes across New Jersey.

Most heating contractors don’t touch steam anymore. We still do. From single-pipe systems in century-old Princeton homes to two-pipe systems in mid-century construction, our team understands the physics and the practical service requirements of steam heat.

A repair is the right answer more often than replacement, and we say so when it is. When a system has genuinely reached the end of its service life, we explain why replacement delivers better value, and the math is transparent so you can decide without pressure.

A boiler failure in a New Jersey winter isn’t something that waits until Monday. Our emergency response is ready nights, weekends, and holidays, because a cold house during a cold snap is a real problem that needs a real answer.

Gas and oil boiler work involves fuel lines, combustion air requirements, and venting specifications that are governed by strict New Jersey code. Shortcuts become safety problems. We do the work to current code every time, not because we have to, but because that’s what keeps families safe.

Princeton Air is also your plumber, your electrician, and your indoor air quality specialist. When boiler work touches adjacent systems, as it often does, having one licensed team that understands all of them keeps the project moving instead of bogged down in handoffs between contractors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a boiler typically last?

A well-maintained boiler can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, depending on the type of system, fuel source, and how consistently it has been serviced. Regular annual maintenance is one of the most effective ways to extend the life of your boiler and avoid premature replacement.

How do I know if my boiler needs repair or replacement?

If your boiler is under 15 years old and experiencing a single, clearly defined issue, repair is often the right call. If the system is older, requiring frequent service, or struggling to heat your home effectively despite repairs, replacement may offer better long-term value. Our technicians can evaluate your system and give you an honest recommendation based on its actual condition.

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Annual maintenance is strongly recommended for all boiler systems. A professional tune-up before the heating season ensures your system is operating safely and efficiently when you need it most. Regular service also helps identify small issues before they develop into more disruptive and more expensive problems.

What are the signs my boiler needs attention?

Common warning signs include unusual noises such as banging or whistling, uneven heat distribution throughout your home, a boiler that cycles on and off more frequently than normal, unexplained increases in your heating bills, or visible signs of corrosion or leaking around the unit. Any of these symptoms is worth a professional evaluation.

Is a boiler more efficient than a forced-air heating system?

Modern high-efficiency boilers are among the most efficient heating options available, with some condensing models achieving efficiency ratings above 95 percent. Combined with the comfort advantages of radiant or hydronic heat distribution, a well-chosen boiler system can be an excellent long-term investment for New Jersey homeowners.
