Air Conditioning Replacement That Gets the House Comfortable Again

When the AC finally gives out, you feel it in every room within an hour.

Princeton Air handles air conditioning replacement in New Jersey with NATE-certified technicians who take the time to understand your home, work carefully around your landscaping, and complete the job in a single day.

After the new system runs, the house holds temperature evenly through the hottest afternoons, the equipment runs quieter than what it replaced, and you stop thinking about the AC again. Call Princeton Air or schedule online today.

24/7 Emergency Replacement Service

Your cooling system can fail on any Sunday in July, and you should not have to wait until Monday to talk to someone.

Princeton Air answers calls around the clock, with same-day and next-day response on cooling failures throughout the Hamilton Township and Princeton area. A Princeton Air dispatcher takes the call, gets a technician routed to your home, and gives you a clear arrival window. While you wait, turn the thermostat off, close the shades on sun-facing rooms, and run ceiling fans to keep air moving through the house until we arrive.

Your Path From a Failing AC to a Comfortable Home

You should not have to manage a cooling failure alone, and the process of replacing the system should not add to the stress.

Each step keeps you informed and your home protected from the first call through the final walkthrough.

One phone call or one online booking starts the project. A Princeton Air team member answers, takes the details, and gets you on the schedule. You get an arrival window you can count on, and you are not left wondering when someone will show up.

A Princeton Air technician comes to the house, looks at the failing system, and gives you an honest read on repair versus replacement. If replacement is the right call, you see two or three options at different price points, in plain language, with pricing on paper before any work begins.

Our crew arrives, protects the floors and the path to the mechanical space, and gets to work. The old indoor and outdoor units come out, the new system goes in, and the old equipment leaves with us. Most replacements are done in a single day, and the work area is left cleaner than we found it.

Before we leave, the new system is tested in cooling mode, airflow is confirmed at the supply registers, and the thermostat is walked through with you. You know how to operate the new controls, what the warranty covers, and who to call if anything comes up.

Jose Colon was friendly and professional. I spent about an hour with him as he performed myAC preseason maintenance on my 2 year old Carrier unit.
I had my AC Maintenance done, the technician Ryan Gobel, was extremely thorough and professional, answered any and all questions.
Iโ€™ve been dealing with Princeton Air for over forty years and have always been extremely satisfied
We have used Princeton Air twice for our HVAC and once for plumbing. Each time, the technician was courteous and professional, and the issues were resolved. We recommend Princeton Air!
Tech from Princeton Air (Brian Hassan) showed up on time and performed yearly maintenance on our Kohler Generator. Very professional and courteous technician. Thanks for taking care of our generator like it was your own.

Just had a tech Cruise Rodriguez trouble shoot a minor wiring issue on our new Carrier furnace which was installed this week. As we were installing a new thermostat WiFi Honeywell there was a mismatch which Cruise located and rewired. System seems to be up and running with new thermostat.
Thank you Cruise for your expert help in resolving this issue.
Dominic is very professional and clearly knows what he is doing .
Jonathon and Louis were professional and neat! They Answered all my questions
Dominic was extremely pleasant, professional, and thorough,. He was also quite efficient. He quickly diagnosed the situation and was able to correct it. He also took the time to patiently explain my thermostat to me. Then he signed me up as a member. So heโ€™s a pretty good sales guy too!
However, I then set up an appointment for maintenance and twice Princeton Air canceled me. Iโ€™m now set up for maintenance the end of June. And thatโ€™s after they tried to set me up the end of July and I complained. And this is after Dominic signed me up as a member. Thereโ€™s something very wrong with their business model and I do not consider this good customer service. I will likely have to look for a different serviceโ€ฆ. something more responsive.
I had a great experience with Princeton Air. I had an issue with a part of my healer leaking. Within an hour of calling about this problem, Dylan, the technician, arrived at my house. He soon identified the problem. The next day 3 technicians came back and replaced the faulty part.
Repair went smoothly and efficiently, very satisfied.
One of the worries anyone with a new system would have is if it turns bad, how can it be cared of. Princeton Air answers that question. They responded quickly, sent technicians to look at the issue, and found the proper solution for you. The coordinator at the office is very nice; she would answer my email, and call me back about it even it was on weekends. Such a call is important because it tells you that you are not left out! Wish they will continue the good service. Feng.
Always appreciative of service from Princeton Air. This time it was to install a new quick-Connect hose for the gas grill. Friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Thank you for the great service.
Knowledgeable, Pleasant, provided insight for me to make an informed decision that best meets my needs
Technician was knowledgeable. He was able to find the issue quickly and fix the problem without issue.
Very good service. Cruise did a terrific job resolving our problem and was a pleasure to speak with.
I am so thankful to Princeton Air for sending to me your very best technician, Dominic M, on April 2 to do the maintenance for my air conditioner! Dominic is very professional, knowledgeable and talented. He was so thorough and he explained everything to me as he did it in a way to be sure I could understand. He explained what was working well and what problems needed to be addressed, then came out 2 days later and completed the repairs! I'm so thankful and I would highly recommend Dominic M!!

Robert D was here to check a switch and once again he was great. Professional expedient and overall very accommodating .
Tom did a great job of identifying and repairing a pinhole leak in our minisplit AC system. The cost was high, but the amount of labor and material justified it – these things ain't cheap! Tom is a very personable and knowledgeable tech.
Technician arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem with our air-conditioning as being the blower that was not operating properly. Karume advised us of the ordering process, quoted us a price for the part as well as who to contact at Princeton Air Parts Dept on Monday for more information on how long it would take for the part to come in and be installed. Karume is an exemplary employee and is always welcome to make a service call at our house.

Benefits of Replacing Your Air Conditioner

You’ve decided it’s time, and the payoff starts the moment the new system runs.

A new AC delivers on the things the old system stopped delivering.

Today’s air conditioners are built better than the units they replace. Tighter tolerances, better coil design, and higher-grade components all mean the new system performs more consistently and lasts longer than a system manufactured 10 or 15 years ago. You feel the difference the first summer and every summer after.

Smart thermostat compatibility, variable-speed operation, zoning capability, and app-based control are all standard on today’s equipment. You can adjust the temperature from your phone, set up schedules for each room, and get alerts if something needs attention. Your old system had a dial. Your new one has a dashboard.

Modern air conditioners run dramatically quieter than the units they replace, both inside and outside the house. The condenser on the side yard stops drowning out conversations on the back patio. The indoor unit cycles on without interrupting a phone call. You stop noticing the AC, which is exactly how cooling should work.

A new high-SEER system uses significantly less electricity to cool the same house. Summer electric bills across New Jersey’s cooling season drop meaningfully, and for many homeowners the savings offset a real portion of the replacement cost within the first few summers of operation.

A new AC comes with real manufacturer warranty coverage on the equipment plus Princeton Air labor warranty on the work. If something goes sideways, you know who to call and you know the coverage is there. The 100% satisfaction guarantee that backs every Princeton Air replacement means the relationship doesn’t end at the invoice.

Why New Jersey Homeowners Choose Princeton Air for AC Replacement

A replacement is a bigger decision than a repair, and the company doing the work matters as much as the equipment going in.

Princeton Air brings a specific set of commitments to every replacement project.

Every AC replacement runs through a NATE-certified technician. NATE certification is the recognized standard in residential HVAC and reflects ongoing testing on real equipment. The person in your home has done this work hundreds of times before.

Cooling failures do not wait, and neither does our dispatch team. Most replacement projects get a technician on site within 24 hours of the call, with a new system up and running by the end of the week during cooling season.

Princeton Air installers disconnect and remove the old indoor and outdoor units as part of the project. You do not coordinate disposal, find a hauler, or live with the old unit in the driveway for a week. The mechanical space is left cleaner than we found it.

For more than 50 years, homeowners across Hamilton Township, Princeton, Lawrence Township, and the surrounding Mercer County communities have trusted Princeton Air to restore comfort with care and honest workmanship. That local history means we know the housing stock and the permit offices you are working through.

Every replacement option comes with written pricing before any tools come out. You know what the system costs, what the installation includes, and what it does not. If something changes during the project, we talk to you before we act.

Every Princeton Air replacement is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee and real manufacturer and labor warranty coverage. The paperwork is walked through at the end of the job, the coverage is explained, and the protection is real when you need it.

Princeton Air handles plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and indoor air quality. When your AC replacement needs electrical work, a new thermostat run, or a humidifier integration, the same company handles all of it on one schedule.

AC Replacement FAQs

How long does an AC replacement take?

Most residential AC replacements are completed in a single day when the equipment is on hand and the ductwork does not need modification. A system that runs hard from May through September in New Jersey’s humid summers usually comes out and goes back in as one project, one crew, one day.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my AC?

If your system is over ten years old, has had multiple significant repairs in the past two summers, or is costing noticeably more on your electric bill than it used to, replacement is usually the smarter move. A Princeton Air technician can walk through the math with you and give you an honest recommendation before you decide.

Will a new AC lower my electric bill?

Modern high-efficiency systems use significantly less electricity to deliver the same cooling. Homeowners replacing older units often see real drops in summer cooling costs, and for many households the savings cover a meaningful portion of the replacement over the first few summers.

Do you remove and dispose of my old AC unit?

Yes. The old indoor and outdoor units are disconnected, removed from the property, and disposed of properly as part of the replacement. Refrigerant is recovered per EPA regulations, and the work area is left clean.

Are permits required for AC replacement in New Jersey?

Most New Jersey municipalities in the Princeton and Hamilton Township area require permits for central AC replacement, and Princeton Air pulls the necessary permits as part of the project. Proper permitting protects you at future home inspections and at resale.
