What is a ductless mini split?

Just like traditional heat pumps, a mini split has an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit, connected to each other by power & refrigerant lines; and other than a power line from the home’s service panel to the outdoor unit, and a small condensate drain line off the indoor unit, this is the entire infrastructure required for this type of system. The ductless mini split system operates where other systems cannot because it does not depend on ductwork.
